The DIY Magic of Amateur Radio in HD

ARRL’s new video , “The DIY Magic of Amateur Radio,” is an 8-minute video that follows some of the innovative, imaginative and fun ways “hams” use radio technology in new and creative ways. The presentation is directed toward the DIY (do it yourself) movement, which is inspiring a new generation of creators, hackers and innovators. The message should be helpful for existing members to shape the ways they understand and talk about ham radio. For more information and related resources, visit

Yes, but why not have all the version in one spot. Makes judging the response easier. Plus the only people who would watch is on the ARRL site are licensed hams. Selling to the sold. When has that ever been a good sales idea?

They claim they were not capable of uploading the HD version to you tube. brought to you from the same guys that are doing Digital QST using flash. The platform that does not work on ipad, iphone or the new jelly bean adroid release.

I shot and edited the show 1080i. The output file from the AVID Symphony HD is 1080i from which the 720P distribution DVD’s were made. The 720P file is available for free download from the ARRL website. The 1080i file is simply to large to make available except on Blu Ray and there will likely be no requests for it. The 1080i file exists only on a pair of G-Drives one of which is at arms length from where Im seated. Here on YouTube the ARRL posted 480.
